For those of us who believe in our Mother in Heaven, Mother Earth, the Holy Ghost as feminine and other Christian interpretations of the Divine Feminine it can often feel intimidating to share or talk about our beliefs.
While we don’t believe personal salvation is dependant on knowledge of Her quality andwe do understand that having our Great Mother in our lives adds to the support we find in Deity.
We also recognize the desperate state of affairs in how our globe is treating the earth and that knowledge of the Earth as a wild, living, being can be one step in cultivating sustainable and peaceful practices, insuring that both the earth and Her human children are around for a long time to come.
Here are some ideas of how to bring Her radiance into light, everyday
• Make a list of scriptures that relate to our Mother in Heaven, see the Heavenly Mother Maidens Blogroll for ideas. You can work these into conversations when sharing your favorite scriptures.
• Pray every day for the strength to hold space for you beliefs when someone speaks to you in a pushy way.
• Pray with your children every morning and evening that they may remember Her in their daily activities
• Every month memorize a prayer or chant to the Divine Feminine or create your own. Say it often, especially when feeling frustrated, do this in front of other people!
• Carry copies of “The Divine Feminine, the Biblical Image of God as Female“, and give it away when you can
• Read the Bible every day, while looking for Her
• Always pray at meal time, include Her in the prayer. Our favorite is “Give thanks to the Mother Earth, give thanks for the Father Sun, give thanks for the rain in the garden where, the Mother and the Father are one.”
• Get a Goddess themed calendar or planner (we like We’moon) and hang it at home, the office, etc.
• Remember you are an example of Her! Be clean, well groomed, respectful, lady like (or gentlemanly). Practice patience, kindness and humility. If you’re a woman show the example of the Divine Feminine on earth, honor your calling as a mother. If you’re a man treat women with love and respect, do not speak unkindly of them.
• Tell children’s stories from “Circle Round” to your kids when you are waiting in line, at the doctors office, etc.
• Get a CD of Goddess music or the soundtrack to “Circle Round” and play it in your home and in your car.
• When other people complain about their mother, sister, grandmother, etc. share with them how seeing the Feminine face of God has helped you respect the women in your life more and get along with them better.
- Define yourself. I know this can be hard and you may struggle against this one but you need to have an intriguing answer when people ask you; “What are you?” An idea is to place words like “Nature-based” or “Goddess worshiping” in front of traditional labels like Christian, Mormon or Catholic.
Remember the two most important things are to live a life which is a good example of Her love for us and always hold your head up and speak of your beliefs with confidence!

that's all well and good but how in the WORLD do u find a church that u can go to WITH ur different beliefs?!?! i have ALMOST the same beliefs as u crazy as it seems. i was mormon, i have always believed in a Mother God but have just recently had the JOY (stupid that i didn't know bfr) to find her in the bible that i've always followed. i've always taught my 5 kiddos about Mother God and stuff but i am so afraid that when they are in childrens church or whatever at one of the churches that i'm at the teacher will say "what's God's name" or something to that effect! and then my kids will answer "Shekhinah!!!" lol. funny now but the teacher who doesn't want my kids to go to hell for my "pagan/heathen" teachings will ever so "nicely" inform my children that there is NO mother God and that their mommy is WRONG! 99.9% of churches want u to believe exactly what they believe or ur wrong...let alone on something as big as Mother God. the other day an old friend wrote me and said "i just found out about the apocrypha and gnostic texts, u should read them if u get the chance!" i wrote back that for me that was like 10 years ago. now i am reading about "Chokmah, Sophia, Shekhihah"! he said that he's sad for me because i am basically going to hell! so he's not writing me back till i get my stuff together! so ppl can believe in stuff like OTHER books of the bible. BUT when i believe in Mother God i am on the verge of getting stoned! the reason this is bothering me right now is i can't seem to find a church that our beliefs fit into enough to feel like we won't be stoned!
sorry this is all for a comment...i didn't see ur email.
gypsimomma,
I hear your frustration. I wish I could say that I have had a different experience but sadly my opportunities to talk about Heavenly Mother are few and far between. I have gotten along very well for a year and a half at my local Episcopal church - but all churches are different. Once I get to Utah I am going to check out Community of Christ, and of course there is always Unitarian church - and remember Joseph Smith's father, Joe Sr, was a Unitarian so that church is like the grandfather of Mormonism. Good luck!
To learn more about the Queen of Heaven, the Divine Feminine and their origins, I suggest you visit my blog. (www.mormonprophecy.blogspot.com) I think you will be surprised to learn their origins and meaning. You'll also learn how pagan and heathen concepts are actually part of the restored gospel.
Toe,
Welcome! It's nice to "see" a new reader! I'm glad to hear of another person out there researching (and blogging about!) the surprise that is the Goddess in the Gospels and Her original pagan origins.
Mormon pagans unite!
Hugs :)
